(This article provides an overview of the various types of busbars and manufacturing processes involved in busbar fabrication.)
Electrical busbars are indispensable components for the distribution of electrical power, typically manufactured from conductive materials such as copper, aluminium or bimetal (copper-clad aluminium).
Busbars are designed to facilitate the flow of large currents while minimising energy loss.

Fig. A illustrates the various types of busbars based on their construction, material, finish and the material used.
Fig. B depicts the manufacturing processes employed, which utilise conventional machinery such as drills, hydraulic presses and power presses, in conjunction with CNC machines for milling and grinding.
